Contact Dermatitis

Abstract

General aspects of clinical features of contact dermatitis cover the various steps used to establish a diagnosis of contact dermatitis. These include the medical history of the patient, including time of onset and a history of aggravating factors and of the course of the dermatitis as well as its morphology and location. Contact patterns and the various clinical types of hand dermatitis are presented, and examples of acute, recurrent and chronic dermatitis are given. Important differential diagnoses are illustrated, and a review of typical causes of contact dermatitis in various areas of the body is included.
