Status epilepticus bei Erwachsenen

Zusammenfassung

Unter einem Status epilepticus versteht man lang dauernde, nicht selbstlimitierte epileptische Aktivität. Eine einheitliche Definition, ab wann ein epileptischer Anfall in einen Status epilepticus übergeht, existiert nicht. Da gezeigt wurde, dass generalisierte epileptische Anfälle nach zwei bis drei Minuten, und komplex-fokale oder einfach-fokale Anfälle nach etwa 10 Minuten sistieren [1, 2], wird in neueren Studien zur Behandlung eines Status epilepticus eine Anfallsdauer von über fünf Minuten als Status epilepticus definiert und die Therapieeinleitung empfohlen.
