Zusammenfassung

Spezifische Phobien sind im Kindes- und Jugendalter weit verbreitet, wobei sich die Angstinhalte je nach Alter und Entwicklungsstand des Kindes unterscheiden. Klinisch relevante Phobien verlieren sich in den meisten Fällen im Entwicklungsverlauf nicht von alleine, sondern nehmen gesamthaft eher zu und verschieben sich auf andere Angstinhalte. An der Entwicklung von Ängsten scheinen mindestens drei verschiedene Lernprozesse – Konditionierung, Modelllernen und Instruktionslernen – beteiligt zu sein. Als therapeutische Methode der Wahl für die Behandlung von Phobien im Kindes- und Jugendalter hat sich die intensive Reizkonfrontation in vivo durchgesetzt, so wie sie beispielsweise im One-session Treatment Programm angewandt wird.
