28. Sport bei Master-Athleten

Zusammenfassung

Unter einem Master-Athleten werden vereinfacht Sportler/innen, die ≥ 35 Jahre alt sind und regelmäßig an Wettkämpfen teilnehmen zusammengefasst. Dies bedingt eine sehr inhomogene Sportlergruppe, was die Auswertung von wissenschaftlichen Daten erschwert. Auch beim Master-Athleten kommt es zu einem physiologischen sportbedingten kardialen Remodelling. Dabei gibt es komplexe Interaktionen zwischen den einwirkenden kardiovaskulären Risikofaktoren, dem physiologischen Alterungsprozess an sich und den sportbedingten Faktoren. Daher ist das „alternde“ Sportlerherz bisher ungenau definiert. Im Ausdauersportbereich kam zudem in den letzten 10 Jahren zunehmend die Diskussion über eine U-förmige bzw. umgekehrt J-förmige Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehung zwischen sportlicher Aktivität und kardiovaskulärer Gesundheit auf. In der Sorge vor einer „kardialen Maladaptation“ wurden besonders i) eine beschleunigte Koronarsklerose, ii) eine Myokardfibrose und iii) das Vorhofflimmern diskutiert. Dabei weisen ausdauertrainierte Masterathleten eine erniedrigte kardiovaskuläre Mortalität auf.

Der Einsatz von Operationsrobotern für den Einbau von Totalendoprothesen des Kniegelenks hat die Präzision der Eingriffe erhöht. Für die postoperative Zufriedenheit der Patienten scheint das aber unerheblich zu sein, wie eine Studie zeigt.
