Direct communication between the right pulmonary artery (RPA) and the left atrium (LA) is a very rare cardiovascular anomaly, which can lead to central cyanosis and exertional dyspnea. Since the first case was described by Friedlich and colleagues in 1950 [
1], approximately 80 cases have been reported worldwide. The majority of fistulas, especially the large ones, were treated by surgery. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the successful transcatheter closure of a very large pulmonary artery–left atrial fistula using a muscular septal occluder in an adult patient. …
