Castleman disease (CD) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder described in 1954 by Dr. Benjamin Castleman. It can be unicentric or multi-centric on presentation. CD is often seen in patients with immune-deficiency status (HIV, long-term steroid therapy). CD is classified into hyaline vascular type, plasma cell type or mixed. Unicentric CD is commonly seen in mediastinum, neck and retroperitoneum. Unicentric mesenteric CD is rare and often creates diagnostic dilemma mimicking as lymphoma, tuberculosis or carcinoma. Pain or discomfort is the most common symptom; many cases are found incidentally during imaging.
