Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Durch intensive klinische Forschung ist in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten die Thrombolysebehandlung als erste Akuttherapie des ischämischen Schlaganfalls weltweit etabliert worden. Aktuelle Phase-III-Daten belegen nun auch die Wirksamkeit der mechanischen Rekanalisation. Dass eine schnellere Anwendung die Wirksamkeit der verfügbaren Behandlungen signifikant erhöhen kann, ist vielfach belegt. Trotzdem existieren in vielen Kliniken, die mit der Notfallversorgung von Schlaganfallpatienten betraut sind, nur unzureichende organisatorische oder infrastrukturelle Vorkehrungen, die auf eine größtmögliche Zeiteffizienz bei der Akutdiagnostik und Akuttherapie abzielen.

Schlussfolgerungen

Viele kostengünstig zu implementierende Maßnahmen sind gut evaluiert und können erwiesenermaßen zu einer Verbesserung des Effekts der Thrombolyse beitragen.
