Abstract

The Boston Elbow enables prosthetists to fabricate almost any adult artificial arm that requires a powered elbow. In addition to ruggedness and reliability, the Boston Elbow features many control modes from simple switch control to myoelectric control of three functions by just two muscles. It is powered by a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery in the forearm.
