Management of Recurrent and Metastatic Sarcoma

  • Chapter
Manual of Soft-Tissue Tumor Surgery

Abstract

Even following optimal local therapy of soft-tissue sarcomas, about half of all patients will experience treatment failure and ultimately succumb. The recurrence may be local/regional or at distant metastatic sites, but either problem will often require a therapeutic effort to achieve patient comfort. These patterns of treatment failure will be addressed individually.
