Abstract
Although many businesses have mastered efficiency, few operating rooms have done so. I have heard all the excuses as to why any given operating room cannot increase their efficiency and I am here to tell you that ALL operating rooms can increase their efficiency. We as surgeons have the ability to make this happen and I will share with you the model I created that you can use to create success in improving the efficiency of your operating room regardless of the surgery being performed. By following the key principles in this model, operating rooms across the United States have already successfully improved their efficiency and in doing so have reduced the potential for errors, as well as improved the quality of the operation, increased the revenue generated, and created both success and growth of their centers and the surgeons that work there.
