Abstract

Urine cytology has played a critical and integral role in the diagnosis and surveillance screening of high-grade urothelial carcinoma (HGUC). The endeavor of this chapter is to highlight the historical and current perspective of reporting urine cytology, emphasizing HGUC. Diagnostic criteria that are essential and needed for a cytomorphologic diagnosis of HGUC are also identified and listed.
