Abstract
Viele Modelle und Studien, die Einfluss auf das Verständnis von Medienwirkungen und auf die kommunikationswissenschaftliche Forschung im Bereich der Medienwirkungen haben, sind in Allianz mit psychologischer Forschung entstanden. Legendär sind die frühen Studien zur „Psychologie des Radios“ von Cantril und Allport (1935) oder die Radiostudien von Paul F. Lazarsfeld, der gemeinsam mit seiner damaligen Ehefrau Herta Herzog am Psychologischen Institut in Wien die Wirkung von Radiostimmen auf die Hörer untersuchte (Herzog 1933). In diesem Beitrag soll näher betrachtet werden, wie diese ersten Schritte und weitere Strömungen der Psychologie die Medienwirkungsforschung bis heute beeinflusst haben. Es wird diskutiert, welche Perspektiven aus der Zusammenarbeit von Psychologie und Medienwirkungsforschung resultieren und mit welchen Szenarien wissenschaftlicher Kooperation sie optimiert werden könnten.
