Die Teletherapie mit von außen auf den Körper gerichteten Strahlenfeldern wird über einen Linearbeschleuniger durchgeführt. Hier werden Elektronen einer Energie von 620 Mio. Elektronenvolt auf einen Metallkörper gelenkt. Die ausgelöste Röntgenstrahlung ist auch für die Therapie tiefergelegener Tumoren geeignet.
