Das Sakrum bildet den kaudalsten Anteil der Wirbelsäule als biomechanisches Bindeglied zwischen Rumpf und Becken. Instabile Sakrumverletzungen können daher auch als Bestandteil einer instabilen Beckenringverletzung betrachtet werden.
