Zusammenfassung

Die Beurteilung der Ergebnisse nach der Implantation von Schulterendoprothesen ist problematisch. Erst aus den letzten Jahren existieren Studien, die sowohl aufgrund des Studiendesigns als auch der verwendeten Scores einen Vergleich zulassen. Bisher können jedoch nur kurz- und mittelfristige Ergebnisse überblickt werden. Ein Vergleich von modernen und älteren Prothesentypen, verschiedenen Operationsmethoden sowie Nachbehandlungskonzepten ist kaum möglich. Nur indirekte Rückschlüsse erlauben gewisse Erkenntnisse. Die Problematik wird u. a. daran deutlich, dass selbst in den ersten Arbeiten zur Schulterendoprothetik die postoperative Funktion, Schmerzreduzierung und Zufriedenheit der Patienten mit Werten ausgewiesen werden, die auch aus heutiger Sicht völlig zufrieden stellend sind.
