Zusammenfassung

Bei einer Vielzahl neuropathologischer Läsionen und Erkrankungen zeigen langfristig e Verlaufsuntersuchungen kontinuierliche, dynamische Veränderungen bei hirngeschädigten Patienten. Eine Funktionsrestitution ist selten vollständig, dennoch ist das Gehirn ein dynamisches Organ, das einer kontinuierlichen Veränderung sowohl zum Besseren als auch zum Schlechteren unterliegt. Deshalb ist die Beobachtung von Geschwind (1985) so wichtig.

„Man kann vermutlich nie von einer statischen neurologischen Läsion sprechen“ (Geschwind 1985, S. 8).
