Abstract
Common, non-dysplastic nevi include a wide group of benign melanocytic lesions histologically characterized by an increased number and proliferation of typical melanocytes, in single cells or in aggregates. Cytology is usually monomorphous, characterized by small melanocytes which tend to assume a more epithelioid configuration. In this chapter, the main confocal features of clear-cut benign nevi are presented, focusing on their histological presentation, and dermoscopy correlates. In particular, it is easier to differentiate these lesions according to their clinical presentation and histopathologic characteristic, responsible of their confocal presentations (Table 8.1).
