Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren wurde die Bedeutung des Körperkontakts auch im Rahmen der Forschung immer mehr zu einem zentralen Thema. Dies hängt nicht zuletzt mit dem großen Forschungsinteresse in Zusammenhang mit dem Hormon, Neurotransmitter und Neuromodulator Oxytocin zusammen. In diesem werden Ergebnisse zum Einfluss von Körperkontakt auf unterschiedliche gesundheitsrelevante Bereiche, beispielsweise die Stress- und Schmerzbewältigung, dargestellt. Darüber hinaus wird die hohe Bedeutung von Körperkontakt für soziales Lernen, Selbstsicherheit und Zufriedenheit gezeigt. Eine Übersicht über den aktuellen Stand des Wissens zur Rolle des Oxytocins vertieft das Verständnis für die Bedeutung des Körperkontakts. Die in diesem dargestellten Zusammenhänge zeigen auf, in welchem Ausmaß Menschen mit einer Körperkontaktstörung benachteiligt sind.
