Zusammenfassung
Die Faszination des automobilen Autonomieversprechens basiert historisch vor allem auf der Kontrolle des menschlichen Fahrers über Gaspedal, Lenkrad und Bremse. Das Lenken eines Autos sei der einzige Bereich, „wo dem Machtrausch und der Erfindungsgabe noch ein freier Raum“ verbleibe, beobachtete der Semiologe Roland Barthes 1963 ([3], S. 241). Auch der Soziologe Henri Lefebvre betonte, das Automobil sei das letzte Refugium von Zufällen und Risiko in einer zunehmend kontrollierten und verwalteten Gesellschaft ([19], S. 103).
