Durch die Nichtlineare Regression wird der Anwendungsbereich der Regressionsanalyse erheblich erweitert. Mit ihr lassen sich beliebige nichtlineare Regressionsmodelle schätzen, aber natürlich auch lineare Modelle, wenngleich mit erhöhtem Aufwand.
