Zusammenfassung

Um „Spasmus und Konvulsionen“ der Muskulatur zu vermeiden, empfahl Hippokrates (460-375 v. Chr.) Frakturen des Unterschenkels entweder am 1. oder erst am 7. Tag zu reponieren, bei eingetretenem δπασμσoς (Spasmus, Verhärtung der Mm. i.S. des Kompartment-Syndromes) notfallmäßig die Fraktur zu redislozieren. Letzteres kam als therapeutischer Ansatz ex iuvantibus einer Muskellogenentlastung gleich.
