Abstract

This chapter is about the use of balance as a strategy for personal development. I will describe in some detail this strategy and recommend advice on implementation. I will make a distinction between two balance concepts, within-domain balance and between-domain balance. Then I will describe three additional principles shedding additional light on the principle of balance. These are the quota principle of domain satisfaction, the principle of aggregation of domain satisfaction, and the principle of satisfaction efficiency. I will show how one can use these additional principles to help enhance subjective quality of life.
