Abstract
Laser incisional techniques are commonly used in aesthetic eyelid and periorbital surgery. The eyelids and adjacent tissues are vascular and delicate area of the face which require meticulous surgical technique and strict attention to hemostasis to attain the best surgical results. Lasers promote these outcomes by allowing the surgeon a near bloodless field, less tissue distortion, a clearer view of anatomic detail, and greater surgical precision and efficiency. A commitment to educating the surgeon and staff on laser surgery is a necessary step to mastering the technology. Appropriate education and observation will promote this knowledge and allow safe and effective use of the laser.
