Abstract
The midgut extends from the anterior intestinal portal to the posterior intestinal portal. The derivatives of the midgut are the lower half of the duodenum, the jejunum and the ileum, as well as the caecum, appendix, ascending colon and the right two-thirds of the transverse colon.
