Zusammenfassung

Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Studien und Instrumente zur Messung der Gesundheitskompetenz (GK) von Kindern (Alter <13 Jahre). Hierzu werden fünf Literaturübersichtsarbeiten herangezogen, welche die englisch- und deutschsprachige Literatur zwischen 1980 und 2018 in den Blick nehmen. Insgesamt konnten 23 Studien identifiziert werden, die 22 verschiedene Verfahren zur Messung der GK von Kindern einsetzen. Hierbei können Studien unterschieden werden, welche primär, oder nur am Rande Kinder adressieren und welche entweder einzelne, spezifische oder gleich mehrere Gesundheitsbereiche erfassen. Die Studien adressieren je unterschiedliche Teilbereiche der GK wie Wissen, Kommunikation sowie Einstellungen und sie sind als Selbstauskunft, Leistungserfassung oder Mischformen konzipiert. Zuletzt werden statistische Gütekriterien in den Blick genommen, wobei sich ebenfalls deutliche Unterschiede zeigen. Insgesamt lässt sich eine zunehmende Anzahl von Instrumenten und Studien zur Messung der GK von Kindern beobachten, jedoch bestehen weiterhin Potenziale und Bedarfe.

Der vorliegende Beitrag basiert auf einem Aufsatz der Autoren, der 2019 im von Okan et al. herausgegebenen und von Policy Press verlegten „International Handbook of Health Literacy“ veröffentlicht worden ist (Bollweg und Okan 2019). Bei der aktuellen Fassung auf Deutsch handelt es sich um eine aktualisierte, erweiterte und übersetzte Fassung des ursprünglichen Beitrags. Übersetzung aus dem Englischen: Torsten M. Bollweg.
