Abstract

Persoonlijkheidsstoornissen behoren tot de meest voorkomende psychische stoornissen, maar konden tot voor kort als de stiefkinderen van de psychiatrie worden beschouwd. Het onderwerp mag zich sinds de introductie van de DSM-III in 1980 in een gestaag toenemende aandacht verheugen, zowel in de klinische praktijk als in het wetenschappelijk onderzoek (Blashfield & Intoccia, 2000).
