Abstract
Human cosavirus was detected using reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction in 71 % of raw sewage and 29 % each of secondary-treated sewage and river water samples in the Kofu Basin, Japan. The highest concentration was 2.80 × 106 copies/l. Nucleotide sequence analysis revealed multiple genotypes of the virus in wastewater.
