Abstract
This chapter describes the seven video-endoscopic scenarios that are most frequently encountered in the clinical practice. An examination template called the 12-min examination is also presented. During this examination, three points of interest (PI) within the upper airways will be systematically explored. Four blue dye challenges, performed at point of interest three, will be explained. The seven scenarios will be detailed according to these three PI and four challenges to allow physicians to recognize the different scenarios. Scenarios are illustrated by “comics-style” or frame by frame illustrations. Short clinical examples and literature references are also provided for each scenario.
A pictogram corresponds to each scenario and sub-scenario. The same pictogram will appear along the book each time a topic applies to a particular scenario.
