Abstract

Despite several years of clinical experience with magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, only few relevant clinical applications for liver and upper abdominal disorders have appeared. The main factor limiting wide use of MR of the liver is image artifacts due to biological motion. Therefore optimal pulse sequences using different modalities of motion reduction must be employed (Paling et al. 1988).
