Zusammenfassung

Mit Psychotherapie wurde und wird etwas ziemlich Uneinheitliches bezeichnet. Mindestens drei große Richtungen sind es, die gewöhnlich erfaßt werden: Psychoanalyse, Gesprächstherapie und Verhaltenstherapie. Ich selbst bin Psychoanalytiker, d.h. ich werde unsere Fragestellung besonders unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Psychoanalyse sehen, weil er mir der vertrauteste ist. Das sollte nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, daß der Löwenanteil methodenorientierter Psychotherapieforschung von Verhaltenstherapeuten oder Gesprächstherapeuten stammt.
