Treatment of Schizophrenia

Abstract

Expressed emotion (EE) is currently one of the most important measures of family functioning available to clinicians and researchers working with schizophrenic patients. Based as it is on the number of critical comments and level of emotional overinvolvement spontaneously expressed by a relative over the course of the Camberwell Family Interview (CFI), the EE rating is considered to reflect the attitude of the relative toward the psychiatrically ill family member.
