Väter und Psychopathologie: Risiko- oder Schutzfaktor?

Zusammenfassung

Wir haben in diesem Buch dargestellt, dass Väter einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Entwicklung ihrer Kinder leisten können. In diesem Kapitel geht es nun um den bislang eher übersehenen Beitrag von Vätern zur Psychopathologie ihrer Kinder, d. h. spezifisch ihren Beitrag zu bestimmten Störungsbildern wie ADHS, psychosomatischen Störungen, Angststörungen und externalisierenden Störungen sowie ihr Engagement in der begleitenden Elternarbeit als Teil der Therapie ihrer Kinder. Allerdings muss auch die Tatsache beachtet werden, dass ein erheblicher Teil der erwachsenen Patienten im psychotherapeutischen Bereich bzw. in der Psychiatrie Väter sind. Es gibt viel Forschung zu Gewalt ausübenden, missbrauchenden Vätern, aber auch zu depressiven sowie alkohol- und drogenabhängigen Vätern. Welche Risikofaktoren sind bekannt, gibt es spezielle therapeutische Überlegungen? Aber es stellt sich auch die Frage: Wie geht es ihren Kindern?
