Summary
Laser treatment associated with TURP is a new and promising approach for the curative treatment of localised prostatic cancer. In a study of five patients photocoagulation of the prostatic cavity has been achieved. Serious complications have not occurred and sexual function was not disturbed. Long term results are not yet available. We intend to continue this course of treatment and plant to carry out a prospective, randomised trial.
