Histometrische Untersuchungen über den Ciliarmuskel der Primaten

Zusammenfassung

Bei 115 Primaten (80 Cercopithecus aethiops und 35 Macaca irus) wurden an Sagittalscimitten durch die vordere Augenhälfte die Flächenanteile der verschiedenen Ciliarmuskelportionen planimetrisch bestimmt und mit der jeweiligen Kontraktionsform korreliert. Es ergab sich eine deutliche Vergrößerung der zirkulären Faseranteile mit steigendem Kontraktionsgrad. Da die Flächenanteile der longitudinalen und retikulären Muskelportionen gleichzeitig im selben Maße abnehmen, kann auf eine konstruktive Umlagerung des Muskelgitters bei der Funktionsbewegung geschlossen werden. Die Zahlenrelationen waren bei Makaken etwas anders, ebenso der Umlagerungsmodus des Muskels bei der Kontraktion.

Summary

Sagittal sections were made through the ciliary muscle system in various stages of contraction in 115 primates (80 Vervets, 35 Cynomolgus-monkeys). By means of a projecting microscope the ciliary muscle and its different portions (longitudinal, reticular and circular) were sketched and the respective areas planimetrically determined. In vervets the percentage of purely circular fiberbundles increases noticeably as the muscle contracts from virtually none to 6.4 %, whereas the longitudinal muscle area decreases from 63 to 37 %. Therefore it seems that during contraction the reticular and part of the longitudinal fiberbundles are transformed into circular bundles, that a rearrangement of the fibersystem takes place. Similar findings were made in cynomolgus monkeys. However, the two species differ in respect to the basic shape of the muscle during the process of contraction as well as the degree of the rearrangement of fiber bundles.
