Fractures of neck and shaft of same femur in children

Summary

Hip fractures in children are less uncommon than is suggested in the literature. Fractures of neck and shaft of the same femur in children are really rare. There is no generally accepted method of treatment for such an injury. Two cases of fractures of neck and shaft of same femur are reported.

Zusammenfassung

Hüftfrakturen bei Kindern sind nicht so selten wie in der Literatur angenommen wird. Frakturen des Schenkelhalses und des Schaftes an gleichen Femur sind im Kindesalter allerdings tatsächlich selten. Es gibt keine allgemein anerkannte Behandlungsmethode für eine solche Verletzung. Über zwei derartige Fälle wird berichtet.
