Mammometer: A new instrument for measuring “pseudocapsule firmness” after breast augmentation

Abstract

A new device is introduced which measures the compressability of breasts after augmentation. Since small progressive changes in breast firmness are not readily picked up by manual palpation, a more accurate and reliable method of measurement is needed. A comparison is made between manual compression and use of the mammometer.
