Résumé

L'ostéite post-traumatique constitue une importante complication de la chirurgie orthopédique. Une expérience de 30 ans nous apprend que l'antibiothérapie seule est inefficace. Depuis 13 ans, nous utilisons le gel de taurolidine en tant qu'agent local bactéricide. Plus de 500 patients présentant une infection osseuse ont été traités. La revue des cas au dernier contrôle a montré un pourcentage de 86 % de guérisons de l'infection.

Abstract

Posttraumatic osteitis is still the most important complication of bone surgery. In the last 30 years we have learned that antibiotics do not solve the problem. For 13 years Taurolin-Gel 4% has been used as a local bactericidal agent. Over 500 patients with acute or chronic osteitis have been treated. The overall results of the different studies show that in 86% infection free consolidation could be achieved.
