Problems in impedance pneumography: Electrical characteristics of skin and lung tissue

Abstract

The impedance measured by surface electrodes in impedance pneumography is partly that of lung and partly that of other tissues, notably the skin. The paper discusses the assessment of the relative contributions of these various tissues to the total impedance.

L'impédance mesurée au moyen d'electrode de surface en pneumographie d'impédance est d'une part celle des poumons et d'autre part celle d'autres tissus, la peau notamment. Cet article à pour but de déterminer la part rélative prise par chacun de ces différents tissus dans l'impédance totale.

Zusammenfassung

Die in der Impedanzpneumographie mit Oberflächenelektroden gemessene Impedanz setzt sich zum Teil aus derjenigen des Lungengewebes und zum Teil aus der anderer Gewebe, besonders der Haut, zusammen. Die vorliegende Arbeit diskutiert die Bestimmung der Relativbeiträge dieser verschiedenen Gewebe zur Gesamtimpedanz.
