Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Die Veröffentlichungen von fünf prospektiven randomisierten Studien zur mechanischen Thrombektomie machten das Jahr 2015 zu einem Meilenstein in der Entwicklung der Schlaganfalltherapie. Bis dahin war die medikamentöse I. v.-Thrombolyse die alleinige evidenzbasierte kausale Therapie des ischämischen Schlaganfalls.

Ziel der Arbeit

In diesem Übersichtsartikel stellen wir die fünf Studien MR CLEAN, ESCAPE, EXTEND IA, SWIFT PRIME und REVASCAT und ihre Ergebnisse vor.

Abstract

Background

The publications of five prospective randomized trials have made 2015 a milestone in the development of stroke therapy. Up till then, IV rtPA had been the only evidence-based recanalizing treatment for ischemic stroke.

Aim

In this article we review the results of five trials: MR CLEAN, ESCAPE, EXTEND IA, SWIFT PRIME, and REVASCAT.
