Abstract

A 38-year-old male was diagnosed to have dextrocardia, situs inversus totalis and rheumatic heart disease involving aortic and mitral valves. After further evaluation, he was taken up for double valve replacement. Surgery posed a challenge for us because of the abnormal positioning of the heart and great vessels. He made an uneventful recovery apart from transient heart block. This case is being presented for its rarity with the fact that there has been only one other reported case of double valve replacement in a patient with dextrocardia and situs inversus totalis.
