Abstract
The family has become an important forum for encounters between generations as segregation by age has become commonplace in social institutions. This article, drawn from a wider study of generational relationships in French society by author Claudine Attias-Donfut, examines the relationships of families comprised of three adult generations, with an eye to such pertinent issues as income, geographical proximity, and cohabitation.
