French plan aims to reduce social inequality in cancer prevention and treatment

France’s president, François Hollande, launched a national plan against cancer for 2014-19 on 4 February, World Cancer Day. While presenting the 152 page document, Hollande explained that the main goal was to reduce social inequalities at all stages for those affected by cancer—namely, in prevention, screening, diagnosis, care, and treatment.
