Zusammenfassung

Die „alte” Therapie mit Larven der Lucilia sericata hat in neuer Form mit Verwendung eines Biobags (Vitapad®) einen neuen Stellenwert in der Behandlung van akuten und chronischen Infektionen in der Chirurgie und der Unfallchirurgie bekommen. Mithilfe dieser Therapie können Infektionen bei Traumapatienten erfolgreich, mit gleichzeitiger Verkürzung der gesamten Behandlungsdauer und Verringerung der Invalidität behandelt werden.

Abstract

The ancient method of larval therapy for treatment of acute and chronic infections has become a revival and a new dimension with introduction of the Biobag (Vitapad®). With use of this therapy trauma patients suffering infectious complications can be treated very effective, which can reduce the overall time needed for treatment and can result in diminished invalidity.
