Introduction

In the past year, several reports of endoscopic developments in the field of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Barrett’s esophagus have been published that could impact the management of these diseases. For this review, we have selected five of the most relevant, original research articles published in peer-reviewed journals over the past year (September 2006 - August 2007). These publications, in our opinion, reflect some of the important developments in the diagnostic and therapeutic arena of GERD and Barrett’s esophagus.
