Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Ein zunehmender Anteil aller hüftendoprothetisch zu versorgenden Patienten ist adipös und weist ein gegenüber normalgewichtigen Patienten geändertes Risikoprofil auf.

Ziel der Arbeit

Es soll ein Überblick zum Einfluss von Adipositas auf das Ergebnis nach primärerer Hüftendoprothetik vermittelt werden.

Material und Methoden

Recherche der aktuell verfügbaren wissenschaftlichen Literatur und Darlegung eigener epidemiologischer Untersuchungen.

Ergebnisse

Adipöse können einen für normalgewichtige Patienten vergleichbaren hohen funktionellen Nutzen nach Hüftendoprothesenversorgung erwarten. Eine hochgradige Adipositas begünstigt jedoch das Auftreten peri- und postoperativer Komplikationen, insbesondere die periprothetische Infektion und die Endoprothesenluxation und sollte präoperativ nach Möglichkeit behandelt werden.

Diskussion

Die Kenntnis adipositasassoziierter Risiken ist eine Voraussetzung für die erfolgreiche endoprothetische Versorgung übergewichtiger Koxarthrosepatienten.
