Neurogonadale Interaktionen bei Frauen mit Epilepsie

Zusammenfassung

Die Behandlung von Frauen mit Epilepsie stellt den Kliniker vor komplexe Anforderungen. Es bestehen multidirektionale neurogonadale Interaktionen zwischen den Impulsen der iktalen und interiktalen zentralnervösen Erregungsstörung, die in einer Dysbalance der hypothalamisch-hypophysären Funktion resultieren, dem neuroaktiven Potenzial der gonadalen Steroide und der endokrinen Modulation durch die antiepileptische Medikation. Auf der Basis der bekannten pathophysiologischen Fakten und klinischen Beobachtungen werden im vorliegenden Beitrag klinische Szenarien und mögliche Therapieoptionen besprochen.
