Zusammenfassung

Das Ziel jeder ästhetischen Operation ist es, dem Patienten einen subjektiven Nutzen zu verschaffen. Mittlerweile wird das Konstrukt „gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität“ als einer der wichtigsten Parameter in der Therapieevaluation angesehen. Es existieren mehrere aktuelle Studien, die unter Verwendung von validierten Instrumenten zur Messung der gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität zeigen, dass eine Ohranlegung zu einem signifikanten und nachhaltigen Anstieg der Lebensqualität von betroffenen Kindern und Erwachsenen führt. Einschränkend muss festgestellt werden, dass eine missglückte Ohranlegung, häufiger bei Verwendung von Ritz- oder Schnitt- als bei reinen Nahttechniken, zu irreversiblen Deformitäten führen kann, die für die Patienten belastender sein können als der präoperative Zustand.
