Zusammenfassung

Trotz der hohen Inzidenz sowohl bei jungen als auch älteren Patienten und der potenziell letalen Komplikationen wird die Venenthrombose weiterhin unterschätzt. Eine genaue und sorgfältige Diagnostik ist daher essenziell. Nach der Akutbehandlung, insbesondere bei idiopathischen Thrombosen, ist zudem eine weiterführende Betreuung des Patienten für Verlaufskontrollen, Umfelddiagnostik und zur Verhinderung von Langzeitkomplikationen relevant.
