Porokeratosis ptychotropica (PP) and genitogluteal porokeratosis (PK) are both quite rare subtypes of PK, which are frequently misdiagnosed. In the published cases of two subtypes, the lesions jeopardized buttocks and genital areas simultaneously in many patients, and the morphology can be quite similar. However, none of these cases tried excluding the other diagnosis before drawing the conclusion, which cast us some doubts: Are PP and genitogluteal PK the same entities at different forms or stages? If not, how can we tell them apart? Is there any latent clue to distinguish them? …
