A retrospective review, conducted between 1 June 2015 and 31 December 2015 described two patients [ages and sexes not stated], who developed systemic allergic reactions following administration of ampicillin and ceftriaxone, respectively. The patients were subjected to skin testing to determine penicillin allergy, if any. Between the two patients, one patient, who had positive skin test by minor determinant mixture penilloate and penicilloate, developed systemic allergic reaction due to ampicillin. The other patient, who was tested negative to standard skin test panel, tolerated phenoxymethylpenicillin [penicillin V] well; however, the patient developed systemic allergic reaction due to ceftriaxone [ dosages, routes, times to reaction onsets and outcomes not stated]. …
